There are a number of reasons that you may be unable to access your root directory via FTP. Make sure that:

  • You are connected to the Internet.
  • You are using the correct user name (FTP User name, not your Control Panel login name on windows servers) and password to log on.
  • Your FTP client is configured correctly.
  • You are using the correct host name, user name and password.
  • You are not using Frontpage or Internet Explorer to connect to FTP.

If you are still having difficulty connecting, contact support by generating a support ticket with the settings you are using and the exact error message you are receiving.
